Dr Geraldine D'Souza, Consultant Psychiatrist



Dr. D’Souza’s area of expertise is in assessing and treating individuals aged 18 years old and over. This includes mood disorders (such as depression, anxiety, bipolar affective disorder), psychosis, somatoform disorders, as well as neuropsychiatric and cognitive difficulties (such as memory impairment and dementia).


Career history

Dr D’Souza has been a Consultant Psychiatrist for over eight years. She has extensive experience of treating individuals with varying complexity and need. She has worked across both inpatient and outpatient units and provides a high quality service as evidenced by the excellent feedback she receives on the ‘I want great care website’. Dr. D’Souza practices evidence based approaches and works in partnership with her patients to achieve the best possible outcomes. She has been awarded a certificate of excellence for her contribution towards patient care.

Dr. D’Souza also leads our memory assessment clinic at St. Andrew’s. She undertakes the assessment and provides a diagnosis where appropriate, for patients who are concerned about their memory. Dr. D’Souza is passionate about providing a service that is person centred, quality driven and efficient.
