The St Andrew’s Eating Disorder Clinic offers assessment and treatment for people who may have an eating disorder such as Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia or Binge Eating Disorder. We can also support people with disordered eating such an Avoidant and Restrictive Food and Intake Disorder (ARFID).
Many people with an eating disorder have another mental health condition associated with it, including:
Initial Assessment – 1.5 hours
Referrals are normally sent in by your GP and we would need certain information to be included, such as relevant bloods tests and an ECG. We would review your psychiatric history and perform an examination of your mental state. From there, we are able to make a diagnosis.
Treatment options
With an accurate diagnosis, you have the option to refer to an NHS service, although the option for 45 minute appointments with St Andrew’s Eating Disorder Clinic would include:
Once our treatment programmes have been completed, you have the option to access further support services from your GP or request a referral on to another local service to provide ongoing support.
