About

Dr D’Souza is an experienced consultant psychiatrist having worked in psychiatry for over 23 years.

She has experience in assessing and treating mental disorders in individuals aged 18 years old and over. This includes mood disorders (such as depression, anxiety, and bipolar affective disorder), psychosis, stress related conditions, OCD, ADHD and PTSD. She also has expertise in assessing and treating individuals with neuropsychiatric and cognitive difficulties such as brain injury, cognitive impairment and dementia.

Dr D’Souza works in partnership with her patients to provide person-centred and holistic care. She receives excellent feedback and is responsive, kind and empathetic in her approach.

Medico-Legal Experience

Dr D’Souza also has  a wealth of medico-legal experience. She is  approved under sec12 (2) of the Mental Health Act 1983 as having special experience in the diagnosis and treatment of people with mental disorder. Dr D’Souza produces comprehensive, high quality court reports in a timely manner.

She undertakes assessments and provides reports in relation to litigation capacity, assessment of mental capacity for wills and probates, lasting power of attorney and court of protection, parole board assessments and fitness to plead. She also provides independent reports for mental health tribunals.
