About

Rathika Thivakan, is a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT) with over 10 years of experience working within the mental health field, primarily in NHS settings. Over the years, she has had the privilege of helping individuals from diverse backgrounds navigate a range of challenges, including anxiety disorders such as OCD, health anxiety, and social anxiety, as well as depression and PTSD.

Rathika offers evidence-based CBT, a structured and effective therapeutic approach that empowers clients to understand and address the thoughts, feelings, and behaviours that may be keeping them stuck. Whether you’re struggling with overwhelming anxiety or feeling lost in a cycle of negative thinking, she is here to help you gain clarity and find a path forward. Therapy sessions are offered in person and online to suit your availability.

Rathika has also completed the National Behaviour Therapy Foundational Training in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). This allows her to offer DBT-informed one-to-one sessions, skills coaching, and group skills teaching. Her approach integrates evidence-based DBT principles to support clients in building emotional regulation, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and mindfulness skills

Her therapy style is compassionate, collaborative, and tailored to your individual needs. Her focus is on providing a safe, non-judgmental space where you can feel heard, understood, and supported throughout your journey. Together, you’ll work to uncover the root causes of your difficulties, develop effective coping strategies, and take actionable steps towards building the life you want to live.

I’m committed to helping you feel empowered and confident in your ability to create lasting change, no matter how challenging your current situation may seem. - Rathika Thivakan
